Pretty Little Style Icons

You know those books you read as a kid that always seemed to have the perfect summer where the girl meets the guy and falls in love la-de-da kinda deal? Well, this summer, my summer, was kind of like one of those in the books. Only instead of falling in love with a boy, I fell fast and hard for TV & Film Production. (Yeah, okay, that might sound super cheesy and nerdy… but it’s the best way I could articulate it, haha). I spent the majority of my summer on set, learning the ins and outs of the business, meeting actors, directors and crew. I was so enthralled with the whole experience and just kept getting deeper in and realizing that I had to, Must, NEED to be part of this the rest of my life. Whether I am the one on the screen or designing the costumes, I am so enamored with film production and all the magic and work that goes into episodes & movies. In honor of my recent episodes with Pretty Little Liars, this post is dedicated to their incredible costume and styling.

So although I did not get to meet their costume designer and stylist, I did, however, meet these lovely ladies.

And might I add, they are even prettier (& skinnier) in person, if that’s possible.

I remember reading the “Pretty Little Liars” books back in like fifth or sixth grade... but I don’t think I ever imagined how impeccable their wardrobe would be! Their stylist, Mandi Line, has done an absolutely incredible job styling the girls individually. From edgy & a little funky at times Aria, to girly & chic Hanna, rocker/sporty Emily and preppy & romantic Spencer, she has truly nailed each one flawlessly!

Here are a few of my favorite outfits from the past season or so

I'd definitely say I'm more drawn to Aria's style (Lucy Hale), as I like a bit darker and edgier pieces. But I do have days where I adore Hanna's (Ashley Benson)  funky & girly style or want to be more rocker like Spencer (Shea Mitchell).

Here are a few of my 'inspired by the liars' outfits
 ARIA MONTGOMERY

 HANNA MARIN
EMILY FIELDS

And a few more pictures, just because they're super cute

Whose style is your favorite? And what would your inspired look be?

all good things are wild & free

Henry David Thoreau once said, "all good things are wild & free," and I could not agree more. Capturing the essence of a free spirit with a passion for nature/fashion/art and anything beautiful is Miss Corina Alulquoy Brown.

I did a post on this designer/photographer from Santa Barbara awhile back and since then her Etsy shop,  Wild & Free has grown exponentially. She is so creative and is constantly coming out with new headdresses, jewelry and now boots!

Inspired by these Free People Luxury Jones boots

that will have you down $438 (and that's without tax)..
Corina takes vintage boots and handcrafts these badboys for much cheaper.

I am completely enamoured with these boots and I NEED TO GET MY HANDS ON A PAIR.. Not only are they super funky & cool, but they are completely one of a kind.. these boots are made for walkin'.
HA, sorry, HAD TO.. couldn't help it.

There's a contest going on until tomorrow to win a pair!

'Tis the Season

I absolutely love when the weather starts getting crisp and layering becomes a must. Sometimes I wish I lived some place cold ALL the time because I love sweaters, tights and layer upon layer.. Alas, I'll make due with the few chilly weeks we get here in Southern California.

Current inspiration to keep me sane during finals week (I can't believe it's already finals week... of my freshman year in college. Is this real life?)

Christmas/Birthday Wishlist:

Boots (always), fun tops to layer from Free People & Billabong, Scarves/Beanies, Laptop Case, Body by Burberry, yoga pants x82438094823, RayBans (my other ones got stolen at work -_-) and a camera! What's on your list this year?

We shot our family Christmas cards last night.. here's a sneak peak.

Hehehehe
